Family Support

Families carry so much of the weight of addiction, yet they often have the least support. This gap is significant — and Tyler’s Redemption Place is intentionally filling it.

Our family support programs create safe, welcoming spaces where loved ones can find understanding, connection, and hope, no matter where they are in their journey.

We offer free, peer-led support groups and one-on-one family peer support to help families feel less alone and more equipped to navigate the impact of addiction or loss.

What Family Support Is

Family support brings together people who are navigating the challenges of loving someone with a substance use disorder — or grieving someone they’ve lost. Through shared experience, families find comfort, guidance, and practical tools to move forward with strength and compassion.

At Tyler’s Redemption Place, peer support is always:

  • Free
  • Confidential
  • Non-clinical
  • Grounded in lived experience
  • Welcoming to anyone impacted by a loved one’s addiction or loss

Family Peer Support

Our certified Family Peer Supporters walk alongside parents, partners, and caregivers one-on-one. They offer guidance, connection, and a safe place to talk through the challenges families face. Because they have lived experience themselves, they bring understanding that feels real, relatable, and judgment-free. Family peer support is always free, confidential, and centered on your needs and your path.

The Well — Grief Support for Families

The Well is a grief support group for families who have lost a loved one to addiction or overdose. It offers a steady, caring place to share stories, honor loved ones, and find comfort in community. Families come together to process grief, reduce isolation, and receive support from others who truly understand this kind of loss. The Well is a place of hope, healing, and restoration and meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month.

Loving With Grace — Family Support

Loving With Grace supports families who are walking alongside someone in active addiction or in recovery. This support group helps them build resilience, learn new tools, and feel less alone as they navigate the ups and downs of their loved one’s journey. Participants share experiences, explore healthy boundaries, and find encouragement from others. The group meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month.

Smart Recovery — Family and Friends

Our SMART Recovery Family & Friends group offers evidence-informed tools to help families support their loved ones while also caring for themselves. This group teaches practical strategies for communication, emotional regulation, and healthy support — all in a nonjudgmental, welcoming environment. SMART Recovery Family & Friends is ideal for anyone seeking skills-based support grounded in empowerment and choice and meets on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Thursday of each month.
